Motivation
Push Harder
The topic is going to be about remaining even keel, what that has to do with presence, and baseline state, as well as self belief, constancy, consistency, motivation, and pushing the needle.
Our thinking patterns can turn negative at any time. The NSF (National Science Foundation) found that 80% of human thought is negative. This reinforces the need to learn two mental models (Problem | Solution) and (80/20 rule) These models will serve to counteract basic psychology and form a base of personal mastery. Presence will calm down the cyclone of negativity, which self reinforces in a negative spiral. Negativity changes your state. Memory is state access dependent. If your state drops, you lose access to all progress made in heightened awareness, and even might sabotage it. The ups and downs of life allow us a chance to counteract them and develop mastery. The bible addresses this in the verse “Rejoice in trials and tribulations with joy, for trial brings endurance, and endurance perfect character”
Pain is this interesting substance that enables change and transformation, many times I pray to remember my pain. Goggins says “I earned this pain.” Pain is the substance that tips the emotional seesaw. Pain builds emotion. Emotion fuels action. “A perverted pleasure in the pain.” But be careful you can get addicted to a different form of pain. The pain enables us to let go.
When we lose presence or awareness it’s inevitable to sink down into trance, dormancy, and unconsciousness. Life gets harder here, hence the idea of “float.” I want you to float lightly through life. I want you to float through your day. I want you to appreciate and recognize how far you have come.
Typically in the human being, the consciousness has a baseline state. The emotional state and thinking pattern it repetitively finds itself in. This is called a paradigm. The NSF found that 95% of our thinking is repetitive on a day to day basis. To change paradigms, change your thinking pattern. Change your emotional state. How? Inner game!
We don’t realize that 95% of our thinking is repetitive because the mind actually identifies with the thinking. There is no separation, or classification from a self awareness perspective. It’s a mess of emotional stimuli and reactivity for the most part.
We break this down further in the triune brain masterclass. (Youtube)
Once you build the pre-requisite of self awareness, you can begin determining the categories of mental functions. This means once you being to dis identify from the thoughts in your head, like a fractionation process, the multitude of mental functions become clearer. Some mental operation are more efficient that others, some are more central. Self belief is one of these particulars.
Many entrepreneurs proclaim self-belief as the number one factor in their success. Many people try to think their way into self belief. Unfortunately this isn’t how the brain works. I don’t expect you to just take my word for it, but rather I encourage you to try the exercises in the YouTube videos. Interestingly, when you o unconscious, or negative, and your state drops, so does your self belief. Interesting how this works. These functions are married, and connected. As is your mind and body. In the taxonomy of the human being, wholistically much is connected. However there are central linchpin functions that turn others.
One of the cures for the ups and downs of life, is to continually do the work. Whether you are winning, or are losing, the work even’s out the fall. It also evens out the win. When you win you let your foot off the gas. When you lose you also let your foot off the gas. This is both wrong. Foot on the gas all the time. Always be going, Always be putting in the work. Regardless of the results. The working builds on itself. It might not immediately be apparent. But you become more efficient. You make subtle improvement. Just think of how lost you are on a day to day basis in terms of improvement, it’s hard to say how good you are comparatively without documentation or recordings. There is no reality where you do one thing and it just explodes and blows up. If your not consistent, you a dead man.
Motivation falls when we don’t belief in ourselves. Motivation is another aspect of staying consistent, doing the work, and being even keel. Motivation and self belief are linked. Two gears, or functions of mindset intertwined. Seeing is believing. But when we are unconscious, or unaware, we don’t believe what we see, we see what we believe.
Our belief system literally is the consciousness. Being is belief. Belief is being. You don’t question your beliefs because you believe them. Belief is the fabric and construct of your mind itself, the highest leverage point. Belief blends into the past, present, and future. We can change our beliefs by modifying our consciousness. We modify our consciousness through learning, reading, writing, socializing, and experiencing.
The consciousness will not modify itself. Growing older and time alone is not enough to impart insight or understanding.
Personal development, militant intent, and mentorship become vehicles to take you to the next level.
Even keel therefore isn’t stagnation. It isn’t stasis. It’s raising the bar. It’s pushing the limits. It’s pushing the needle.
Your going up, or your going backwards.
